Carol Cruickshank

Carol Cruickshank

Carol is a Portland artist who works with textiles to produce cheerful, vibrant and colourful naïve style landscapes and seascapes. She chooses from a huge stash of recycled, new, hand-dyed, shared & remnant fabrics and, using a free style method, sews the collages together by hand.
“I was inspired by my glorious surroundings to try to recreate the settings and feelings for my new home using the ancient technique I had learnt over previous years”.
Many of her originals are framed by her husband, in driftwood washed in by the stormy seas off Portland.
