Judy Tate
Two things are for certain – I love colour and painting using soft pastels.
I have been drawn to soft pastels for a long time now. I find the versatility, immediacy and vibrancy hard to beat. Underlying all my work is a love of colour and the excitement of seeing how far I can take it. My studio-based work (usually inspired by some form of organic form) is often of a more abstract nature. The last couple of years have been very busy for me – highlights including being invited to become Associate Artist with Unison Pastels (producer of leading UK soft pastel brand), helping to organise Open for Art 2019 , being interviewed for worldwide distributed Pastel Journal and writing a blog for the Gail Sibley Canadian Pastel Hub. I can usually be found in my Poundbury based studio and welcome visitors to come and talk about what I am up to creatively – just give me call to arrange.
